K West Hotel to reopen as Hotel Indigo Shepherd’s Bush in 2026

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

The former K West Hotel in Shepherd’s Bush will reopen in February 2026 as Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherd’s Bush, part of the IHG Hotels portfolio.

The redevelopment marks a full transformation of the site, which previously housed the BBC’s Kensington House recording studios. Artists including David Bowie, Jimi Hendrix and Bob Marley recorded at the venue, and the new hotel’s design will reference that musical legacy.

The 231-room property will include a series of suites, a restaurant with an open kitchen, a neighbourhood bar, and an urban spa focused on wellbeing – the first of its kind in the area, according to IHG.

Located near the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire, Bush Hall, BBC Television Studios and Westfield London, the hotel aims to attract both visitors and local residents to one of west London’s most active cultural districts.

IHG said further details about the opening will be announced in due course.

IHG acquired the property back in February 2023, in partnership with the Lancaster Landmark Hotel Company.

At the time, Willemijn Geels, VP Development Europe at IHG Hotels and Resorts, said: “We are delighted to have added Hotel Indigo London K West Shepherds Bush to our ever-growing UK portfolio. As one of IHG’s luxury and lifestyle brands, Hotel Indigo is continuing to grow in popularity, and this is reflected in the interest we are seeing from owners and investors.”
