SenSpa at Careys Manor Hotel has officially completed a £100k upgrade of its gym facilities, introducing what it describes as the first smart gym in the New Forest.

The upgrade, scheduled to be fully operational in 2026, centres on Technogym equipment and technology designed to offer more personalised training and wellness programmes for hotel guests and spa members.

At the core of the refurbishment is the Technogym Checkup Tool, an artificial intelligence-driven system that assesses physical and cognitive performance to produce a personalised “Wellness Age”. The system analyses factors such as mobility, strength and cardiovascular fitness, with the aim of tailoring exercise programmes that adapt over time.

The gym has also been fitted with Technogym’s Excite cardio range, including new treadmills, cross trainers and upright and recumbent bikes, replacing older equipment as part of the investment.

According to Careys Manor, the upgrade reflects growing demand for technology-led fitness and wellness experiences within the hospitality and spa sector, particularly among guests seeking structured training supported by data insights.

Jermaine Lee, spa operations manager at Careys Manor, said: “SenSpa at Careys Manor has always had holistic wellness at its heart, and this exciting new upgrade to our gym offering is a response to what we’re seeing our guests and members prioritise: luxury wellness experiences backed by world-class technology and data insight.

“We want to support and motivate our members to reach their goals and we can’t wait to welcome new joiners who are embarking on the latest step in their wellness journeys.”

Careys Manor Hotel and SenSpa is located in the New Forest and operates a combined hotel, spa and leisure offering catering to both overnight guests and local members.
