In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

The Lakeside hotel in Nottinghamshire has been brought to market for £2.5m.

Located on Mansfield Road in Arnold, around six miles north of Nottingham city centre, the hotel is a Grade II* listed wedding venue and Grade II listed park, landscaped gardens and cottage.

The main building, situated on approximately 5.79 acres of land, was previously a water pumping station built by Nottingham Waterworks Company engineer Thomas Hawskley in 1873.

The venue is part single and part two storey, constructed in the Gothic revival style with traditional brick.

Inside, the building is home to a restaurant with mezzanine, a bar and lounge, a function room and a sizable wedding/function suite and grand hall that can accommodate 150 covers.

Next to the main gate, West Lodge is a Grade II listed Gothic-style lodge dating back to 1871.

Formerly used as an office and storage, the cottage has been transformed for use as residential accommodation to support the main venue.

The Lakeside also contains an outside terrace space with room for 100 guests, with barbecue and bar facilities, with views of the Grade II listed lake and lawned gardens.

Matt Hill, senior business agent at Christie and Co, who is managing the sale, said: “Lakeside is a stunning landmark wedding and events venue, ideally located just north of Nottingham. The property’s period features, well thought-out layout and generous guest spaces make this an ideal project for an experienced operator. We have already received a good level of enquiries and would encourage any interested parties to contact us without delay.”
