In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Hyatt has announced plans to open a 50-room property named Parian Chronicle on the Greek island of Paros this summer.

News of the hotel opening will mark the debut of the Destination by Hyatt brand in the Cyclades. The property has been named after the Parian Chronicle, a marble inscription that documents Greek history.

Located in Kampos near Paros Airport and Parikia port, the site overlooks the Aegean Sea. The development features low-density architecture, including rooms and suites with private terraces and pools.

Architects designed the property using whitewashed forms, natural stone and timber to reinterpret traditional Cycladic styles. The interiors likewise use earth tones and sculptural lines to create a contemporary retreat.

The hotel includes a restaurant focused on seasonal produce and regional wines. Facilities also feature a spa based on ancient Greek healing traditions, a fitness centre and communal spaces for cultural events.

According to Hyatt management, the hotel draws on themes of storytelling, heritage and human connection that “shapes a contemporary retreat that reflects both the island’s past and its evolving identity”.
