The Leopold Hotel in Sheffield has been brought to market for an undisclosed sum, following “consistent and stable” trading in recent years.
First constructed in 1800 as a boys’ grammar school, the Grade-II listed building was renovated and converted into a four-star boutique hotel in 2007 by Prem Group, who continue to operate the hotel.
Located in Sheffield city centre on Leopold Street, the hotel contains 89 individually furnished en-suite bedrooms along with a lounge bar, breakfast room, fitness suite and four flexible meeting rooms.
Colliers, who are managing the sale, said the property is conveniently situated near the city’s Town Hall, the Peace Gardens and Winter Gardens and the Crucible Theatre, where the World Snooker Championship is currently taking place. Last month, the annual tournament announced its commitment to the venue until at least 2045.
The professional services company added that the hotel caters to both business and leisure guests, with Sheffield Lyceum, Sheffield Hallam University’s main campus and Ponds Forge International Sports Centre all close by.
The venue’s accounts for the year ended 2025 indicated total turnover of £2.42m (net of VAT), with growth expected for 2026.
Julian Troup, head of Colliers’ hotels agency team, said: “The Leopold Hotel is a splendid city centre hotel that boasts a solid trading base. The hotel’s historic character combined with modern facilities creates a platform for continued growth and enhancement under new ownership.”
