The 290-key site features studio and one-bedroom suites designed for longer stays

In this episode we speak to Daniel Kyriakides, a partner at law firm Reed Smith. We discuss why private members’ clubs are experiencing a resurgence and what that means for the future of the hotel sector. From heritage buildings being reimagined as lifestyle destinations to hotels borrowing the experiential playbook of members’ clubs, we discuss how the lines between the two are becoming increasingly blurred, and why global growth is on the horizon for the private members club model.

Hilton has opened Home2 Suites Dublin City Centre, marking the brand’s first launch in Europe, Middle East and Africa and bringing the concept to the Irish market for the first time.

The hotel, located near O’Connell Street, features 290 studio and one-bedroom suites designed for longer stays. Each room includes a full kitchen with a dishwasher, cooker, and microwave, alongside dedicated zones for working and living.

Amenities at the site include a 24-hour retail area, complimentary breakfast, and an integrated laundry and fitness centre known as Spin2Cycle.

The property is also pet-friendly, following Hilton research which found 64% of pet owners prioritise their animals’ needs when booking travel.

Hilton said the development comes amid an increasing demand for apartment-style accommodation in the Irish capital.

The Home2 Suites brand, established in 2009, currently has more than 800 hotels globally with a further 750 in development.

Senior vice president for UK and Ireland at Hilton, Stephen Cassidy said: “The opening of Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre is a major milestone for Hilton, bringing the brand to Europe, the Middle East and Africa for the first time. This opening reflects the growing demand we’re seeing from both business and leisure travellers for flexible, apartment-style accommodation with the comfort and quality you’d expect from Hilton.”

Director at JMK Group, Sonia Kajani, added: “The opening of Home2 Suites by Hilton Dublin City Centre represents a significant milestone for us as owners, and a strong vote of confidence in Dublin as a thriving destination for both business and extended-stay travel. We are proud to introduce Hilton’s Home2 Suites brand to a city that continues to attract long stay corporate demand, international visitors and project based travellers.

“This development reflects our long term commitment to investing in high quality, future focused hospitality assets that respond to how people travel and live today. Partnering with Hilton to bring this innovative, all suite concept to Dublin allows us to offer guests greater space, flexibility and comfort, while contributing positively to the city’s evolving accommodation landscape.”
