The Bridge End, Llangollen, has officially reopened this month after undergoing a refurbishment programme.
The large pub and hotel, which is owned by Robinsons Brewery and run by Country Village Inns, closed for renovations in April and has benefited from “significant structural changes”, including a new internal layout, an improved function room and eight newly-designed dog friendly bedrooms.
The design scheme chosen for the hotel aims to be “versatile and welcoming” for both the local community and tourists.
The hotel is Country Village Inns’ fifth pub partnership with Robinsons Brewery, with other properties including the Pooley Bridge, Red Dragon, Queens Head and the newly-acquired Royal Oak.
The Bridge End is Country Village Inns’ first venture in North Wales, with a total of eight pubs in its collection.
Mat Cooper, managing director of Country Village Inns, said: “I’ve spent many holidays in North Wales when I was younger, exploring local villages and picking up Welsh from my granddad. I had grandparents living in Llandudno and Llanrhystud, and when I first started in the industry, I knew I’d look for a pub close by one day.
“When the opportunity at the Bridge End opened up, I jumped at the chance, particularly knowing it was due for refurbishment. It’s such a beautiful building and in a prime part of town.”
He added: “We love taking on pubs ready for a new lease on life and putting them back in the heart of their communities. It’s what we’re good at.”
