Neetu Mistry will report to the senior vice president and managing director for Europe, focusing on operational standards and long-term asset performance across the regional estate

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

IHG Hotels and Resorts has appointed Neetu Mistry as managing director for its UK and Ireland estate, overseeing a portfolio of more than 400 hotels.

Mistry, who has 20 years of experience in the European hotel industry, will lead the commercial performance and growth of IHG’s regional operations.

Her remit includes managing partnerships across a diverse owner community and overseeing a pipeline of new developments.

She previously served as an owner representative for one of IHG’s regional councils and has held senior roles within various UK and European management companies.

The UK and Ireland market currently features 11 IHG brands, including InterContinental, Crowne Plaza, and Holiday Inn

Mistry’s appointment is intended to strengthen owner relations and drive portfolio value as the company expands its presence in the midscale and luxury segments.

The estate currently comprises both open properties and those in the development pipeline.

The transition comes as IHG seeks to capitalise on domestic travel demand and sustained capital investment from hotel owners.

Mistry will report to the senior vice president and managing director for Europe, focusing on operational standards and long-term asset performance across the regional estate.

Mistry said: “I am joining IHG at a moment for its UK and Ireland estate. As a market, I see opportunities to deliver for our owners across all segments. I look forward to working with IHG’s teams and partners to continue delivering hospitality to our guests and long-term growth.”

Karin Sheppard, senior vice president and managing director for Europe, added: “It is a pleasure to welcome Neetu as our new managing director for the UK and Ireland. She brings a combination of strategic clarity, operational understanding and commercial experience of the market.

“She is a leader with a track record of building teams and delivering results. Neetu will be helping to unlock the potential of our UK and Ireland business and strengthening our partnerships with owners.”
