Hyatt’s Andaz London Liverpool Street has appointed Jeanne Aikman as the director of Human Resources, with plans to further strengthen its team and continue the “luxury lifestyle hotel’s reputable employee standards”.
Hyatt said Aikman brings over a decade of experience to her new role at Andaz London. A “seasoned” hospitality and HR professional, she draws her expertise from brands such as Corinthia, Melia and Shangri-La, which she helped to open the now iconic ‘Shard’.
Her role at Andaz London will oversee the attraction, development and retainment of talent across all departments, as well as the day-to-day activities of the HR division.
She will be responsible for upholding the group’s people-focused culture and policies, reflected in Hyatt World of Care, which is committed to advancing care for employees through diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives.
Hyatt said the new appointment comes as Andaz London launches #BeWhoYouAre, a campaign that aims to highlight the hotel’s value of “authentic self-expression for everyone”, including its employees, who have not been required to wear uniforms for several years at the five-star hotel.
Aikman said: “Joining the Andaz London team marks another significant milestone in my journey. This is an incredible hotel, which is already renowned for its exceptional HR division, and I feel honoured to play a part in its unique story. My main goal more than anything is to create an environment where colleagues feel comfortable, happy and, most of all, heard in the workplace.”
Mario Flanagan, GM, added: “We are delighted to welcome Jeanne Aikman into the Andaz London team. In this area of London, we’re all about creativity, expression and zero barriers, three things that we want our employees to embody at Andaz London; our award-winning HR department plays a vital role in this. We believe that Jeanne is the right person to continue and support these high standards.”
