Capella Ubud in Bali has announced the appointment of Christian Jaquier as its new general manager.

The appointment reflects Capella Ubud’s strategy to strengthen its leadership team and maintain service standards.

He succeeds in the role with more than 20 years of experience in luxury hospitality, having held senior positions across Asia, Africa and the United States with brands including the Ritz-Carlton and Ayana Resorts.

Jaquier was most recently general manager of Long Beach Mauritius. His background includes overseeing hotel pre-openings, repositioning projects and service innovation.

In his new role, Jaquier will be responsible for hotel operations, guest experience and commercial performance.

Jaquier said: “The camp’s dedication to offering immersive and authentic experiences, along with its commitment to sustainable practices, aligns beautifully with my personal values. I eagerly look forward to collaborating with our talented team to craft lasting memories for our guests.”

Opened in 2018, Capella Ubud has been named one of the top five upcountry hotels in Indonesia.

The property also achieved EarthCheck Gold Certification in 2025 and was named a sustainability leader by the Leading Hotels of the World.
