Hospitality group Edyn has appointed three senior executives to its leadership team to support expansion across Europe.

The firm, which operates the Locke and Cove by Locke brands, has filled roles across its people, property development and technology divisions.

Chief people officer Dan Merchant joins the executive team from Freehand Hotels and Generator to lead talent and culture strategy. He will oversee human resources operations and organisational development as the group scales its international operations.

Dominique Florian has been appointed vice president of development and design to manage hospitality projects from concept to delivery. Florian previously held leadership roles at JLL, Freehand Hotels and Generator.

The appointment follows the opening of Locke Copenhagen and precedes the launch of Locke London Canary Wharf in May. Florian will be responsible for the company’s property development strategy and European growth.

Darrell Spencer joins as vice president of IT to oversee technology strategy, infrastructure and cybersecurity. Spencer was formerly global IT director at Generator and Freehand, and chief technology officer at Village Hotels.

Edyn currently operates 28 properties across eight countries and employs more than 500 people. Chief executive Alastair Thomann said: “These appointments are a major milestone for Edyn. We have ambitious plans for our brands and portfolio of properties across Locke and Cove by Locke.

“Dominique, Darrell and Dan bring unparalleled expertise, knowledge and experience to build for the future as we continue to expand and evolve. This news is just the beginning, with more to announce in the coming months.”
