Two large hotels in the Midlands have been brought to market, available either as a package from £6.5m or individually.

The Best Western Stoke City Centre Hotel in Staffordshire is accepting offers over £3.75m, while the Quality Hotel Coventry is on sale for offers of £2.75m or more.

The Best Western, located on 66 Trinity Street in Hanley, contains 135 bedrooms on the ground and three upper floors, with a guest lift to all floors and a two-storey annexe.

The hotel additionally includes a restaurant, two bars, lounges and leisure facilities such as an indoor swimming pool, sauna, steam room, jacuzzi and gym.

Aside from its food and spa offering, the property has 11 flexible meeting and conference rooms that can accommodate up to 250 people, along with parking for up to 150 vehicles.

It has been owned by Prince Hotels since 2000, and runs under a Best Western franchise agreement.

Meanwhile, Coventry’s Quality Hotel is made up of 80 en suite bedrooms on the ground and first floor, as well as a 50-cover restaurant and 60-cover bar area.

The hotel also houses meeting and event suites for up to 170 guests for corporate meetings, training sessions, weddings and private events, along with parking for a total of 100 vehicles.

Owned by Prince Hotels since 1997, it operates under a Choice Hotels franchise agreement.

Enterprise Hotels and Hospitality, who is managing the sale, said both hotels can have their existing franchises extended, undergo rebranding with new franchises or be repurposed for alternative uses, subject to planning permission.

Gavin Wright, founder of Enterprise Hotels and Hospitality, said: “We are delighted to have been appointed to offer the freehold interests in both hotels via asset sales, either together as a package or as individual purchases. The Best Western Stoke City Centre Hotel is a substantial, centrally located property with 135 en suite bedrooms, extensive public areas and leisure facilities, plus significant onsite parking.

“This is a rare opportunity to acquire a hotel in a prominent Midlands location, close to Alton Towers, one of the UK’s most popular theme parks, and around 45 miles equidistant between Manchester and Birmingham.”

He added: “The Quality Hotel Coventry is an eye-catching property fronting the A45 Birmingham Road with 80 en suite bedrooms, again with plenty of onsite parking. The hotel’s location will be further strengthened by its proximity to the new HS2 Interchange Terminal, one of the most significant transport hubs being built in the UK. This will serve Solihull and the wider West Midlands, becoming a major gateway for high-speed rail passengers.

“This is a unique investment opportunity in a prime West Midlands location that is unencumbered by management, providing new owners with complete operational flexibility.”
