Líbere Hospitality Group has officially opened its first property in Seville, on Calle Albareda, after converting a former office building into the 47-unit aparthotel

The 3,758-sqm site, known as Líbere Seville Plaza Nueva, is located in the city’s historic old town and consists of two buildings connected by a central courtyard.

Accommodation at the property includes 13 studios, 30 one-bedroom and four two-bedroom apartments. The site can accommodate 170 guests and features a ground-floor restaurant.

The project involved a full office-to-hospitality conversion, with developers retaining the original structure while rebuilding the façades and redesigning interiors. The building has achieved a BREEAM Excellent sustainability rating.

The property features digital entry systems and 13 on-site parking bays. Smart home automation is used throughout for climate control and electric locks, managed via a mobile application.

The opening brings the operational portfolio of Líbere Hospitality Group to 1,061 units, which represents a 76% increase year-on-year for the company.

The firm now manages a pan-European portfolio of more than 2,300 units across Spain, the UK, Portugal, Italy, Greece and France.

Antón de la Rica, chief executive of Líbere Hospitality Group, said: “The opening of this new building in Seville consolidates our presence in Spain’s major cities. Seville is a destination with enormous tourist appeal and a business ecosystem in full growth, which guarantees sustained demand for flexible, quality accommodation.”

News Analysis

The opening of Líbere Seville Plaza Nueva marks a strategic expansion within Spain, following the group’s previous growth in major markets. This development, along with a reported revenue increase of 51% for the first half of 2025, illustrates the company’s ongoing emphasis on transforming office spaces into hospitality assets. The latest site adds to an already significant portfolio, boosting Líbere’s total operational units to over 1,061 across Europe.

As Líbere advances into cities with substantial tourist traffic and burgeoning business hubs, such as Seville, its expansion into the UK showcases an aggressive approach to capturing diverse markets. This model of adapting existing structures rather than building new ones reflects a growing trend towards asset-light operations, allowing for quicker scalability and lower operational risks.
