Warner Leisure Hotels has named Paul Pomroy as its new CEO, bringing nearly three decades of hospitality experience, notably from McDonald’s, where he served in senior leadership roles including CEO of McDonald’s UK. Pomroy’s appointment aims to drive Warner’s expansion program, leveraging recent investments in its hotel portfolio. His vision emphasises enhancing guest experiences while strengthening the brand’s position in the market. Blackstone Real Estate Europe, Warner’s parent company, expresses confidence in Pomroy’s ability to further the brand’s success and deliver value to investors.

Following a £6.8m refurbishment project, Leonardo Hotel Glasgow has transformed into the upscale Leonardo Royal Hotel Glasgow. The renovation encompasses all 321 guestrooms, a newly expanded lobby, and the introduction of an executive lounge for premium guests. The hotel’s aesthetic now incorporates botanical themes and pays homage to Glasgow’s heritage. Additional amenities include Leo’s Bar and Restaurant, a state-of-the-art gym, and high-tech fitness equipment. General manager Claire Butterfield anticipates that this rebranding will elevate the hotel’s appeal to both corporate and leisure markets, offering an exceptional stay experience in Glasgow.

The Halyard at Ropewalks Liverpool marks the inaugural UK opening for IHG Hotels and Resorts Vignette Collection, embodying Liverpool’s maritime legacy. The hotel’s name and design elements reflect this heritage, offering guests an experience rooted in the city’s cultural richness. Signature treats, including Champurrado infused with Liverpool Lost Dock Rum, celebrate the city’s history of chocolate importation and maritime trade. With a 200-seater restaurant serving globally inspired dishes, rooftop suites boasting panoramic city views, and homage paid to Liverpool’s character in room design, The Halyard offers guests a stay echoing the city’s maritime history.

B&B Hotels, a European budget hotel chain, secured a long-term lease for Arora Park Hotel, strategically located near Heathrow Airport. This move is part of B&B Hotels’ expansion into the UK market, aiming to open 100 hotels by 2035. Dentons facilitated the lease agreement between B&B Hotels and Arora Group. Sanjay Arora believes the property’s proximity to Heathrow Airport positions it as an ideal economy hotel. Fabrice Collet, President and CEO of B&B Hotels, expressed excitement about bringing their value-driven experience to the UK market. Patrick O’Connell, CEO of B&B Hotels UK, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to partnering with stakeholders to realise its expansion plans.
