The Sehgal family has announced its acquisition of the Crowne Plaza London Ealing for an undisclosed amount, adding to its London hotel portfolio through its investment vehicle Rivalminster.
The 139-bedroom hotel, which operates under an IHG franchise, is located on the Hanger Lane Gyratory in west London. It includes a restaurant and bar with space for 120 covers, a gym, and meeting and conference facilities aimed at corporate and leisure guests.
Rivalminster said the hotel’s location – adjacent to Hanger Lane Underground station – provides direct access to central London and places it close to Wembley Stadium and several west London commercial areas.
The acquisition is the latest investment by Rivalminster, a third-generation family-run hospitality business founded by Hira Sehgal, who remains involved in strategic decisions. The company is currently led by directors Paul Sehgal and Saachi Sehgal, with Sienna Sehgal also involved in the business.
The family has a long history of hotel ownership in London. It previously owned the Holiday Inn London Oxford Circus for almost 40 years and continues to own The Leonard Hotel in central London, which it has held for 22 years and is currently refurbishing in phases.
The purchase of the Crowne Plaza London Ealing was led by Saachi Sehgal, who previously worked at real estate investment bank Eastdil Secured.
The hotel was acquired from Westmont Hospitality. Westmont had previously bought the Holiday Inn London Oxford Circus from Rivalminster, making the latest transaction a return of ownership between the two groups.
Rivalminster plans to invest in the Ealing property, focusing on modernisation and operational changes, while retaining the Crowne Plaza brand under the existing IHG franchise agreement.
Saachi Sehgal said: “Crowne Plaza Ealing is excellently located close to major transport links and local developments, benefitting from high visibility on the busy Hanger Lane roundabout.
“We plan to enhance the offering through operational improvements and modernisation in order to strengthen its position in the West London market. Crowne Plaza is a well-established brand and we are extremely pleased to be partnering with IHG again.”
The deal reflects Rivalminster’s continued focus on London hotel assets with strong transport connections and underlines its long-standing relationship with IHG Hotels and Resorts.
