The management firm expands its Thames Valley portfolio with the new Reading and Marlow sites

In this episode we speak to brothers Alex and Adrien Grosjean, young entrepreneurs who have recently acquired The Residence Inn by Marriott Manchester Piccadilly. We discussed the reasons why Manchester’s visitor market is booming, and their decision to invest in this area, why they see extended-stay accommodation as a major opportunity in what is one of the UK's fastest-growing cities, how they plan to enhance their portfolio of hotels, and their advice for the next generation of hospitality disruptors.

Troo Hospitality has assumed management of two Crowne Plaza hotels in the Thames Valley. The agreement follows the acquisition of the properties by Millemont Capital Partners.

The Crowne Plaza Reading is a four-star, 174-room hotel situated near London and Heathrow connections.

The recently refurbished property includes 550 sqm of event space, a spa, and a 160-cover restaurant.

Meanwhile, The Crowne Plaza Marlow is an upscale 168-room hotel located on a five-acre lakeside site.

The hotel features 770 sqm of conference space, leisure facilities, and a conservatory with a 350-person capacity.

The deal brings the total number of hotels under Troo Hospitality’s management to 13. The firm now oversees more than 1,750 rooms with a combined annual turnover of approximately £90m.

Management confirmed it will work alongside IHG Hotels and Resorts to develop both properties.

The transition includes the retention of existing staff teams at both the Reading and Marlow locations.

Troo Hospitality said: “We are grateful to Millemont Capital Partners for placing their trust in us to support these recent acquisitions, and we look forward to working closely together to unlock the full potential of the properties as the hotels continue to develop.

“Alongside the support of IHG Hotels and Resorts, we are very excited to work with the great teams within both properties to build on existing strengths and deliver consistently high results all round. We look forward to this next chapter.”
