Hospitality group Crafted has announced the appointment of Jordan Thomson as general manager of the company and Ben Swindells as head of operations at Crafted at Powdermills, following the departure of managing director Joel Williams.

Thomson will be responsible for overseeing the company’s commercial and operational development, having previously worked as group pre-opening manager at Sircle Collection and was pre-opening director for food and beverage at Virgin Hotels during its UK launch.

Meanwhile, Swindells joins from GuestHouse Hotels where he was operations director and hotel director at No 124 Brighton. He has held further leadership roles at Huckletree, The Ministry, and Harbour Hotels Group.

News of these senior leadership appointments follow the resignation of Williams, who is relocating to Qatar. As managing director, he has been credited with shaping the vision of the business during his tenure.

Thomson said: “It’s a great time to be joining Crafted as the business builds momentum and looks ahead to its next stage of growth. My experience has been focused on opening and shaping hospitality concepts from the ground up, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to strengthen the guest experience and support what comes next for the brand.”

Swindells added: “I’m delighted to be joining Crafted at such an exciting time for the business. Powdermills is a truly unique property with enormous potential, and I’m looking forward to working with the team to build on its strong foundations, elevate the guest experience, and drive operational excellence across the site.”
