Hotel management specialists Countrywide Hotels has been appointed to oversee all management and operations of The Selwyn, a 50-bedroom townhouse hotel in Richmond-upon-Thames.

As part of the appointment, Richard Sidaway has been appointed as general manager for the hotel which will continue to operate under its existing name.

Darren Patt, managing director of Countrywide Hotels, said: “The Selwyn in Richmond represents everything we value in a modern boutique hotel: character, authenticity and a genuine connection to its local community.

“It’s an exciting addition to our portfolio, and we see great potential in building on its strong foundations within the local community. Our focus will be on strengthening the hotel’s operational performance, enhancing the guest experience and ensuring The Selwyn continues to stand out as a distinctive destination in southwest London.”

Sidaway added: “I’m thrilled to be joining The Selwyn at such an exciting time. The hotel has an incredible sense of history and charm, and with Countrywide Hotels’ expertise and support, we have the opportunity to take the guest experience to the next level. My aim is to build on The Selwyn’s reputation as a welcoming, stylish and locally connected boutique hotel right in the heart of Richmond.”
